Bhante Chan is a Sri Lankan Buddhist monk who has been living in the United States almost 20 years. After his monastic studies decided to travel in very young age with the blessing of his teacher. While broadening his knowledge on Buddhist teachings and helping many people he travelled to Japan, Malaysia and Singapore. When he was working as a resident monk at the Lankaramaya, Singapore he met Most Venerable Bhante Sujatha. After few conversations he took an interest in the work he does in the western part of the world and had an opportunity to join his work. Since then he has been serving many different communities and played a key role at the very begging of Blue Lotus Temple journey. Most Venerable Bhante Sujatha describes his “a person with a most beautiful heat.” He always walks that extra mile to help anybody in need of help. He is the abbot of Serenity Buddhist Meditation Center, Florida.

Bhante Chan’s kindness is greatly appreciated by his students. People always remember him for his kind gesture he shows been an true example of loving-kindness.
